Hotel du Vin

The brief:

Having been originally awarded the development of the Hotel du Vin site in 2004 and following on from the success of this site, WorksUnit were once again asked to redevelop the site under the new owners Malmaison. Having increased the number of hotels within the group, the site now required a full content management system (CMS), online booking facilities and a completely new look while still retaining the brand essence.

Our solution:

The design was a pleasure to work on, having spent the past four years developing the brand with Hotel du Vin, we knew the direction we wanted to take the creative and this matched perfectly with the Hotel du Vin vision.

The inline CMS, developed in .Net2, allows Hotel du Vin to control multi level administration and allows each hotel to manage its own content while being moderated by the group brand team.

The results:

A visually rewarding site without being over complicated; it simply lets the imagery do the talking and doesn’t allow the CMS to control the design.

The site has already dramatically increased online bookings for both ‘rooms’ and ‘bistros’ and with the on going development, Hotel du Vin will see a large proportion of bookings being made online with the added support of full search engine optimisation.
