Faststream Recruitment Group Website Redesign

Overview

Faststream Recruitment Group are a global organisation who specialise in providing tailored recruitment solutions within the niche market areas of shipping and maritime; oil and gas and built environment. While Southampton remains the home of their UK headquarters, they have connections in over 150 countries and their international offices cover Europe, Asia and the Americas. 

The Brief

The existing website was developed by WorksUnit 4 years ago and it was felt that a front end redesign would keep Faststream ahead of their competitors. As the business continues to expand globally, there was also a requirement to streamline the administration system to encourage consultants from the international offices to update the site with their own location specific job vacancies.

Our Solution

The new design focuses more on the specialist niche markets Faststream operate within and includes a more usable search facility for candidates to find and apply for vacancies. There are multiple navigation channels available for potential candidates to access job vacancies, including a more advanced search, allowing users to search by location, sector, and job title or job reference number. A new filtering system allows candidates to narrow down the search results to the specific vacancy they are interested in. Candidates can also save jobs and searches and be alerted when new jobs are added to their area of interest.

The job administration system is one of the fundamental aspects of the site and an objective of the project was to simplify this system to encourage consultants from around the globe to enter their own vacancies on the site. The content on the site is dynamically generated so sectors / subsectors with the most jobs are displayed first, ensuring the content remains fresh and up to date for the candidates. A simple moderation process has also been included, allowing team managers to review and approve job vacancies before they are populated on the live site. 

The Results

A much more user friendly administration system, which also offers consultants’ and management teams feedback on the performance of their posted jobs.

Over 50% of all visits to the site in the first 3 months have been from new visitors and since the launch with over 2000 new candidates registered.
